David was our DJ for our wedding at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn. We immediately clicked with David from our very first call. We loved his energy and his kindness, and it was clear he was very experienced. David has a super calm demeanor and he's so easy to talk to; although we'd spoken to multiple DJs, we actually knew right away that we wanted to work with David after our first call with him. It also helped that he had worked at our venue many times before, so he knew the drill. He was always very responsive and answered all of our questions promptly and clearly. He was very thoughtful and enthusiastic in learning about us as a couple, and he did a great job of not only playing our music, but also serving as an emcee. We had a lot of emcee instructions (including a marriage license signing, wedding games, and intros for eight speeches!) and he followed them all to a tee. He got all of the pronunciations right for our speakers, and he remained engaged throughout the entire night. We also had an electric violinist and he helped hook him up to the system; we didn't have any issues all night. He played many of the songs that we'd included in our list for him — including '80s songs that some of the older guests enjoyed, and songs like "Wagon Wheel" that appealed to our Southern families. We highly recommend David and think he is an excellent DJ and emcee.

We knew that we would be in good hands for our wedding, and that he would cultivate a wonderful vibe and keep our wedding running smoothly. David’s energy is pure, his taste in music is impeccable, and he can read a crowd with precision, crafting the moment better than any DJ I have ever experienced. David was our DJ for our two-day, half Indian / half French wedding in Brooklyn. He was phenomenal to work with and provided us with amazing music for both nights. Many of our guests commented unprompted that it was the best dance floor music they had been to at a wedding, and everyone had a blast. We started off with a Zoom call to discuss our tastes in music, and because we were having a multicultural wedding (Indian one night, French the second night), he helped us figure out how we could blend both cultures in our playlists. The result was a wonderful mix of our favorite songs, Indian music and French music with a perfect dance floor sequence that left people dancing until the venue kicked us out. We wouldn't hesitate to work with David again and will recommend him to our friends! Thank you David!
David was absolutely excellent!! We are a bicultural couple with very strong music preferences and David nailed the vibe perfectly pleasing both sides, he kept the party going with hit after hit and everyone loved the music! It took only a few minutes on the first call to decide he was the one we wanted for our event and since then working with him was super easy and reassuring. Can’t recommend him enough.
DJ Medina = Nothing less than fantastic!! My wife and I came across DJ Medina via “The Knot” and we are incredibly grateful that we did. For those reading this – I’m sure you will feel the same that trying to find the right DJ is tough because it’s essentially gambling that the DJ will know how to mix and has the experience. If I can do anything for you – please place your trust in this man. He is incredibly easy and flexible in his work. We met DJ Medina on zoom for the initial review and it’s hard to explain; but my wife and I were comfortable and put to ease. We come from different backgrounds and wanted to incorporate the differences our music culture and overall preferences; which he fully understood. One of the things that was helpful for us is that he provided a template. The template for any of you Type A individuals was a guiding tool for us to put any and all of our song preferences for the wedding (The must plays vs the absolutely do not play). It also helped us identify areas where music needed to be played that we quite honestly forgot about (ie. The song to play right when the ceremony ends). On the day of the wedding – DJ Medina was super punctual and ready with all of his equipment. NOW – this is a major plus to any readers. He has his own equipment; so you ultimately save on rentals. Just make sure you have an outlet and a food plate. It’s not required, but it’s very proper to feed your event team. Last pro tip – give DJ Medina creative rights. What do you mean? Earlier above – I mentioned the template for music preferences. One of the scary things (for me at least) is asking myself – will my guest like the music I picked? I like Daft punk and rock music, but I wouldn’t want my guests dancing to Slayer. What you want to focus on is enjoying your day with your partner; while you leave the music to the DJ. DJ Medina did an incredible job with reading the room and keeping the flowing of the dancing going. I can go on and on, but I strongly suggest choosing this man as your DJ. I hope this post put your nerves at ease.
David and Marlon were such a pleasure to work with - their professionalism and finger on the pulse for what we were seeking for the mood of all the music for our wedding all came together seamlessly when putting together songs across multiple genres, cultures, and generations and have them flow smoothly throughout the evening. You don't have to scroll far in either direction to see that everyone agrees: David is the best. Full stop. Without any kind of planner, my wife and I were worried about so many other details of the night and music was never one of them. David took the time to talk with us, figure out the shape of the event, and pinpoint our taste all before ever setting foot in the space. And for every bit of indecision that we had, he brought his experience to make those choices feel effortless in retrospect. When the day came, he ran a quick rehearsal with us before the ceremony proper, rolled with any last minute changes, deftly carried the night, and snuck in every request the two of us had while also pleasing an eclectic crowd and keeping them all on their feet. All age groups were accounted for and every seat was empty! Abandon any idea you had about making your own playlist. Put it out of your mind now. Your playlist cannot do what DJ David Medina does. Whatever you thought was possible, David can do that and more!
My wife and I had David DJ at our recent wedding in Brooklyn. David is not only a very talented DJ, but also a tremendous pleasure to work with. He gave us great tips for throwing a fun event that our guests would enjoy. He prioritized representing my and my wife's music tastes with some twist to heat up the dance floor when needed, and delivered a set during our reception that we loved. Additionally, he was great with emceeing our wedding, delivering announcements engagingly but without unnecessary gusto. We worked with DJ Medina for our August 2023 wedding ceremony in Brooklyn. It was beyond fantastic! From initial meeting to night of, David was personable, accessible, really focused on understanding our needs and wants, and delightful. We had a significant mix of musical needs/styles that we wanted at our event due to our Trinidad, Jamaica, Southern US, West Coast, and NY attendees. Plus, as the bride, I am a HUGE fan of dancing for hours, as are most of my undergrad and grad crews, so downtime on the dance floor was not an option. DJ Medina helped achieve that goal. He also did a great job in helping us keep the evening flowing with the schedule laid out, without coming across as pushy or invasive. Very good balancing skills. My husband and I had a blast, our guests had so much fun, and I was beyond thrilled with the night. I would definitely recommend David Medina. We thank him for being a key part of our night's success.

He was very flexible with any special requests, could read the room and was able to provide a variety of music that all of our guests could enjoy and get up and dance to. David was an incredible DJ, and amazing to work with. We met by zoom initially, and David asked us all about us as a couple, our music tastes, and our guests music tastes. He told us about his expertise and experience, and we just knew right away he would be the perfect DJ for our wedding. And we were not wrong! David gives his clients a very thorough worksheet before the event, so he can gather as much information as possible. He asks for your favorite songs, your must plays, and of course the do not play list. He checks in with how to pronounce everyone’s names in the wedding party, which was very thoughtful. The actual day was a complete hit - as soon as the dance floor was open, you could not keep people away from it! Dancing the night away was truly the most fun we have had, and DJ David was definitely keeping the vibe absolutely on point! Would definitely recommend DJ David to anyone who is looking for a DJ!
DJ David Medina was the perfect DJ for our wedding. He is extremely easy to work with and has years of experience. His pre-wedding handout was such a great tool to organize our day and communicate the type of music/vibe we were looking for. We truly did not stop dancing for a second (which is exactly what we were looking for!). David by no means is a "traditional wedding DJ" meaning he doesn't stick to a one-size-fits all wedding playlist and customizes the music to reflect what you're looking for. Everything was absolutely seamless. We can't recommend David enough!

DJ David was the absolute perfect DJ for us and we cannot recommend him enough. He has the perfect combination of professionalism and fun. He has such a wide array of music knowledge from all genres….which was perfect, as my husband and I (and our guests) are huge music fans and like all different types of music. From the very first call with David, we knew we were in good hands and he was so helpful throughout the whole planning process. Our biggest goal was to ensure our guests had a good time….and they sure did. So many of our guests complemented us on finding the PERFECT DJ!

It was an absolute pleasure working with David. We started planning our wedding fairly late and there was certainly a lot of wedding planning anxiety going around for my wife and I. Upon meeting and speaking with David at our initial meeting, we immediately felt at ease. He was professional, personable, straightforward, collaborative, and knowledgeable in his craft. He understood where we were at in our planning process and was flexible in working with us. He put in a lot of effort to get to know us as people and get a sense of what types of music we wanted at our wedding. His knowledge and love of music is expansive, he strives to learn all genres of music, and we were impressed. For context, we are ethnically filipino and chinese and he knew a lot of filipino and chinese hits that would be great for our guests and family. Additionally, he had great ideas and creative ways to engage the crowd and make sure that the guests were equally happy as well. His attention to detail was unparalleled, he left no stone unturned and this manifested through a seamless progression of events throughout the night, precise and clear pronunciation of many very difficult names, timely and tasteful bits to get the crowd going, and friendly and approachable demeanor. We had an amazing time and that was in huge part due to David Medina's spectacular work. We highly, highly recommend David and would work with him again in a heartbeat!!!
David was amazing and I cannot recommend him enough as a DJ! His charisma, taste, and ability to read a room are remarkable. He made our party so much fun and elevated the whole night. Almost all our guests have brought him up as a highlight when talking about the wedding. He was very attentive from the start. David, my wife, and I had a lovely conversation about our musical taste and wedding vibe. He gave great advice about what songs tend to do well without being pushy. Closer to the wedding we had a second talk going over the fine details. His process was very professional, and I never doubted we were in good hands. The day of the wedding was exceptional! Everyone from my older relatives to rowdy college friends were out dancing. He matched the energy well and I don’t think the dance floor was empty for a moment. All our queues and announcements were done well. He really took the time to understand our taste and executed it flawlessly. I found him playing some of my favorites songs that we hadn’t even brought up earlier. I would hire him again in a heartbeat and highly recommend him for your event.
David was an amazing DJ for our wedding in Brooklyn. He had a great play list that really catered to everyone at the party. David led the dance floor and there was never a dull moment. Everyone had a blast!! He has a great sense to read the room, if the crowd started losing energy he would quickly switch and bring it back up again, he also noticed what the crowd liked more and went with it. DJ Medina was a wonderful addition to our wedding. We chose him for his knowledge of Brazilian music, and he was able to blend American and Brazilian music seamlessly for our mixed crowd. He was an energetic and positive presence throughout the evening and an overall amazing person to work with!

So many of our guests told us how great the music was all night. David was one of the best vendors we worked with (which is saying something, because everyone was great!). Working with David was seamless from the beginning. He was very responsive and took the time to speak to myself and my husband as many times as necessary. He coordinated with the venue so that I didn’t have to be the middle man. David followed our plans closely and did not miss any details! DJ Medina is the best. Immaculate vibes for our wedding! DJ David Medina was an incredible MC and DJ for our wedding. Music is very important to us and we could not have asked for a better vibe at our wedding. Our wedding planner had forwarded us a short list of DJ's that would match our taste in music for the event. After listening to a couple of David's sets through his website, we knew he would be the right fit. David seamlessly mixed in what we like to listen to jamming out at home, with a spot on mix of genres we wanted to enjoy with our family and friends. The perfect mix of Indian and Western, our vibe as a couple. We would work with David again in a heartbeat.
When we secured our venue The Box House Hotel, David Medina was consistently recommended as a DJ for our event. We set up an introductory phone call and found out that he has a lot of experience there, knows the staff, is familiar with the layout, and is experienced with the equipment and weddings in general. The biggest things that stood out to us during our call was his professionalism and wide range of familiarity with different music genres and artists. He was also super nice, patient, and understanding of our musical preferences and the vibe we wanted to create for our event. After the call, we felt confident that he was the one for us. We went on to fill out a document of songs/artists to play and not play, and then had another call near the event date to discuss our plan for our ceremony, entrance, and first dance. On the event date, David not only executed these details to perfection, he also played an absolutely amazing set of music for our cocktail hour and dance party that really had so many people dancing on the floor, even the elders. It was a pleasant surprise how lively that made our wedding and people had so much fun, it was truly like we hosted our own private club. We loved his music so much that after the event, we requested for his playlist that night and he shared it! Now we can relive the memories. David is the absolute perfect DJ, and I wish we can host another wedding just to have him play for us. We love David and can't recommend him enough!
Inclusive and Affirming!!! A worldly DJ!!! Hands down my favorite wedding DJ ever!!! David was also my favorite vendor to work with during wedding planning/coordination. He is incredibly professional, responsive, has a wonderful personality, inclusive and open to all music types, communicates clearly and will follow up if there are any issues or reminders coming up. Music is what was going to tie our biracial/bicultural wedding together. It was so important for my Moroccan family to feel affirmed and acknowledged through music AND they did! David, even handled my very bossy aunt and her friends with so much grace and patience. He played my chosen must play songs which is just a mood booster. I danced sooo much, my updo almost fell apart lol. He cares and loves what he does. I just can’t recommend him enough!!!
David took the time to get to know our music tastes and knew what to play to get all of our guests up and on the dance floor! He was able to bring our processional and first dance song ideas from our favorite Youtube finds to a reality for our wedding! We appreciate all of the work that he put into making our dance floor the place to be!
DJ Medina is very professional, knowledgeable of different cultures and provides guidance to couples like ourselves that were planning our own wedding. From the beginning, DJ Medina was thorough yet easy going in terms of his interactions with us, making sure we had everything covered (speeches, dances, songs, announcements). He made us feel extremely at ease - we were in the right hands. While we picked the majority of the songs, he made sure to sequence them and add some songs here and there based on our needs wherever we had gaps. His experience working with multiple cultures (e.g., Latino, Indian, and European, as select examples) meant that he knew all of the "hits" that would make people dance, and all of the "classics" of all the cultures at our wedding, that made all generations attending feel included. We asked DJ Medina to cover the cocktail hour, dinner, and dance party (our ceremony was at a Church). We had a blast at the wedding reception and received so many compliments throughout the night because of the atmosphere he helped create. We would recommend DJ Medina 1000 out of 1000 times to any couple who's looking for someone with the experience to know how to take care of you as well as the flexibility to work with your specific needs. David was fantastic! I have known David for almost 15 years now and had no doubt he’d be the perfect DJ for our wedding. He was such a pleasure to work with prior to the big day; very organized and gave helpful recommendations. He kept the party going playing all our favorite songs! I would highly recommend David.
We gave DJ Medina a tough job and he delivered with flying colors! We had strong opinions about the music and he had a mixed audience (different ages, backgrounds, and nationalities) to entertain. Nonetheless, he did an amazing job keeping the party alive at all times (even my grandma was up and dancing for a good while). David listened to our requests and incorporated our preferences in a thoughtful way, while reading the room well. He coordinated well with our other vendors to make sure that our away guests joining via livestream were able to participate in the ceremony. Overall, David was a joy to work with and we would highly recommend him!

Experienced DJ not your cookie cutter DJ Loved David! He came highly recommended by several folks who knew him during his days of DJing at salsa spots. What I loved about David is he wasn't your cookie cutter wedding DJ. He plays a range of songs from Salsa, Samba, Afro, Pop, Funk, etc. And his run of show the week before is on point. He knows what he is doing so much so my MC said, just give it to David, he is the real deal. Thank you DJ Medina for making my wedding dance floor packed every song and making our wedding one to remember.
Outstanding! David was absolutely outstanding as the DJ for our wedding. Our wedding planner had recommended David right off the bat given she had worked with David many times before, and we are exceedingly happy with the selection. The whole process was easy - David met with us a few months before to get to know us and get a sense of who we are, then in the month prior to the wedding met with us again to really hammer home our preferences. In addition to the usual popular songs, he was able to basically accommodate anything we asked - including abridged versions of songs, uncommon songs/tunes for different parts of the wedding. He is flexible as well - for some parts of the wedding we selected very specific songs, for other parts we selected a type/genre/time period and he basically filled in the gaps perfectly. During the wedding, everything went off wonderfully, from the elegant greeting period/cocktail hour, to our first dances, to the eventual rocking dance floor. David was energetic, seamless in his transitions, and made for an amazing party overall. One of our friends literally said that it was "the best dance floor she had ever been on". It was an amazing wedding from beginning to end, thanks in large part to David Medina. If you're looking for someone detailed, organized, energetic, who will produce an amazing result, yet incredibly easy to work with, we highly recommend David!
DJ David is the best! Highly recommend! We got married a couple weeks ago and he was professional, timely, and helpful. He did a great job working with us, while also providing great feedback for ideas we didn't think of! We had a surprise coordinated dance that he made sure to help it go seamlessly. The wedding was also half Indian and American, and he was respectful and did a great job integrating both cultures! He did an awesome job getting everyone on the dance floor the entire time, and keeping the whole event fun and lively!

We had a hard time finding a DJ that would play our music taste and David was totally down to play our weird requests! Every meeting we had was fun and exciting and left us so happy we picked him. With wedding planning, things can be so stressful but we never had any doubts/ stress after we found David which was the biggest relief! Can’t thank him enough for the great time we had.

He was very dialed into what was going on and even made some quick on-the-fly adjustments to keep things running smoothly. One thing we were very adamant about was not having a lot of MCing/hype-up-the-crowd DJ sort of stuff. David heard our every word and acted with the utmost grace, tact, and professionalism. His announcements throughout the evening were clear, concise, and timed to perfection.
Of course, this wouldn't be a complete review without mentioning the most important piece -- the DJing. David absolutely crushed it! He was somehow able to incorporate our niche, alt-indie favorites into an eclectic mix of high energy dance music that got everyone from ages 2 - 70 up and dancing. We couldn't be happier with how it all turned out and we owe a large part of that to David and his undeniable professionalism, expertise, flexibility, and guidance. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Best wedding DJ! DJ David Medina is hands down the best dj for your wedding, not to mention his positive attitude and professionalism. We started working with David in 2020 and then the pandemic hit. He was so patient with us and was willing to continue working with us as we decided to wait until 2022 to have our wedding. Throughout this entire time, David was always responsive. When we finally had a date, he made it so easy and fun to create our wedding playlist. He understood our vision from the beginning and delivered 100%, playing exactly the tracks we wanted and having all the proper equipment to execute an amazing event. David is very professional and has a talent when it comes to music. He knows how to create a fun environment. Every person at our wedding was dancing and till this day, everyone talks about how much they enjoyed being on the dance floor. We would absolutely recommend David as your dj for your wedding!
David exceeded all expectations we had for our wedding reception. He is so warm, friendly, and cool and just "got it" when I explained my vision for the vibe of our wedding. Our guests are still raving about the music and energy of the night. Would absolutely recommend hiring him if he is available!!!

Wonderful experience for everyone! DJ Medina is a *wonderful* person to have at your wedding. Every element of the planning process was seamless, and his announcements keep the night moving forward seamlessly. Cheerful and organized! And when it comes to the dancing, DJ Medina will work with you to work with YOUR crowd! He has so many genres under his belt and a wonderful sense of making everyone feel included (and getting out on the dance floor). From pop or classic rock tastes to konpa or soca, and most definitely salsa, you just absolutely can't go wrong by working with him!
David was a recommendation from a friend, who used him at her wedding in March. We were really impressed with his professionalism and organization. He was willing to be flexible with us for a slightly longer-than-average wedding and slotted in seamlessly with our wedding planner. He let us make lots of song suggestions and read the room to really get the party going (without being the kind of DJ who won't get off the mic!!). He worked with us in advance of the wedding to put together our ideal playlist, including esoteric pieces for both the bride and the groom. My husband and I met at a 3-day wedding celebration dancing through the streets of New Orleans. He’s from Bensonhurst (the streets where Travolta struts in Saturday Night Fever), my Cuban-Italian family hails from Miami. Needless to say, the music at our Brooklyn waterfront wedding had to be dance centric from start to finish. But no hokey New Jersey Sweet 16 playlists featuring Journey piano send-off’s or “Tonight’s gonna be a good night…” And no music too hardcore or niche to give any of our multi-generational guests a reason to take a boogey break unless they HAD to. From the jump, DJ Dave was warm and welcoming. In our initial phone interview and every time we spoke leading up to our big day, you could tell he was invested in our guests having the musical experience we envisioned: a dance party to remember. He listened to us unpack our musical tastes, approximated all the genres we were open to and parsed out our do-not-plays (bye, Journey). Dave’s a family man, a Brooklynite himself; he’s also Dominican-American and ran a Cuban salsa show years back (bring it back, Dave!), so he understood the cultural importance of weaving in different kinds of Latin music to pay homage to our respective heritages. He didn’t bat an eye when we asked about additional live percussion to amp up the island feel, and offered his incredible percussionist Nestor. We didn’t want a ton of needless introductions or MC-ing to the nines; Dave totally understood why. Anything to strip down an all-too cookie cutter event to its purest joy—getting everyone, young and old, shakin their tail feathers. We also had a crazy idea to dance from our waterfront park wedding to the hotel reception celebration, much like a New Orleans second line. Dave made our dreams come true, and Nestor drummed us and our guests from our I Do’s straight into a beautiful, bumpin cocktail hour that everyone is STILL talking about.
They say your wedding day will be a blur. Truly, it was. But the most memorable part of that blur, the part we hold on to to this day and that others continue to echo is what a gorgeous ride our musical experience was. One hot feel-good jam after another, over and over, all reception long. Thanks to Dave, our parents’ LONG musical father-daughter and mother/son dance selections were finessed to a socially-acceptable clip. Every announcement was energetic, warm and real. Every shift in genre and mood was expertly handled. We couldn’t ask for a more perfect night of get-down. Oh and Nestor? Played alongside Dave till they finally popped the lights on. It was a dream start to finish.

David was an excellent DJ for our wedding! He really took our input as a couple to determine the different music and styles for our wedding. He coordinated with the venue in order to establish a timeline to keep everything organized during our wedding. Where do I begin? David was so great to work with! He was easy to speak to and listened to all of our questions and requests. He answered our emails promptly and always with detailed answers. The week before the wedding we met with him for over an hour and he made sure that he had every single detail perfect! On the day of the wedding, he was early, set up, and asked if we needed anything or needed to change anything. As the night went on, the music was amazing, he made announcements as needed, and worked so well with all the guests! People are still talking about how great the music was— they never stopped dancing! Our wedding was a mix of oldies, pop, hip-hop, Soca, Kompa, Reggaeton and everything in between! We absolutely loved working with David! His energy was wonderful - both in our early conversations and at the event itself. He was super organized and had a set of forms for us to fill out with our music preferences; then, on the day of the wedding he was attentive to our needs and to the crowd. We were able to give David some of our song preferences and then he built out an amazing set from there. Basically, he's super skilled, super chill, and an excellent choice all around. We're a multiethnic couple and he was amazing at catering to all of our different needs. Somehow, everyone was happy with the music (bride, groom, bride's family, groom's family, friends from all groups - everyone had great things to say about it!). We truly can't say enough good things about our experience working with David at our wedding. From our intro call through to the last song, he was an absolute pleasure to work with and instilled complete confidence that he'd do an amazing job. He made all of the preparation ahead of time easy and stress-free, and it was clear from the start that he fully understood our music taste and vision for the wedding. We're pretty particular about music and requested a wide range of styles for each part of the wedding: swing/gypsy jazz, jazz standards, Bossa Nova, soul/Motown, 60s/70s, and a big mix of dance music across genres, including some Russian dance songs for my wife's family. DJ David Medina was the DJ at our wedding at the Harold Pratt House and he truly made the night vibe. We received many compliments on the music and the way he helped make the night flow. We cannot praise DJ David Medina enough for his services. He is professional, honest, friendly, and exceptionally good at his craft. Music is the driving force of any event, especially a wedding. Where David truly shines is the breadth of his music knowledge, and keen understanding of what/when to play. Our wedding joined an Italian family and an Hispanic family where the variety of music was complicated. We also had some strict/difficult/unusual requirements of what had to be played (ranging from crooners to salsa, cumbia, bachata, disco, Motown/soul, classic rock, 80s, 90s house and early 2000s), and what could not be played (no post 2004 American music).
David accommodated everything and exceeded even our admittedly high expectations. He also was able to adapt to how the guests were responding to song choices to ensure there were always people dancing (young and old, which is critical). We had multiple guests ask us for his information and the playlists he used. Lastly, David's meetings with us helped us think about and decide the flow of the event. From introductions and first dance, to speeches and cake cutting. Everything was organized well in advance, and David remained flexible to unexpected changes. Thank you for everything David. We will surely be in touch for other events in the future.
DJ Medina did our wedding this past October of 2021. Hands down one of the best. The diversity of his music knowledge, professionalism, and expertise at reading the crowd was top-notch. I kid you not — people only left the dance floor to use the restroom or get drinks. They did not leave! I recommend getting a bigger dance floor than you think you might need because your guests are gonna want to keep on dancing if you hire him. Our guests still talk about the music at our wedding. If you want a fun, memorable reception — hire him. I’d hire him again in a heartbeat.

Wow wow WOW! My husband and I were FLOORED by David's DJ'ing. Our guests (of all ages) have not stopped raving about how incredible the music was at our wedding. We thought we would have a chill cocktail hour, with dancing starting later in the evening, but the music was so good that the dancing started almost immediately---and never stopped. I can't remember a single lull.
David was an absolute gem, and a key hire for our wedding reception. Everything about working with him was easy, from initial outreach, to our consultation call, to deciding on the vibe that we wanted for our event. I couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for my wedding. DJ David Medina was so easy to talk to and work with from our initial call right to the end of our wedding. Each music set during our reception was so well planned out and cohesive from playing some music for the older crowd towards the beginning and amping it up as the night went on. I had multiple people come up to me throughout the night to tell me how great the music was. My husband and I got to hear all of the songs that meant something to us throughout the evening which was really special to us. We almost didn’t go with our original last song choice but David suggested the perfect transition song to go into our last song and it was the PERFECT end to our night, I couldn’t have imagined it any other way. Always professional, courteous, and flexible! David was recommended by our wedding venue and we couldn’t be happier. He first got to know us, found out what our musical tastes were, and then asked us to complete a form listing songs we would like to be played and songs we don’t. Miraculously, he was able to seamlessly play songs from funk, bop, jazz, hip-hop, and grunge, yes, grunge. We were nervous about having a wedding without too many dancers, but David got people up. We were nervous about adding adjustments last minute. Not a problem, David handled them as if we talked about them months earlier. What’s even better, David was calm throughout the entire process. Our wedding was rescheduled once because of Covid, and had gone a little longer than expected, among other things that make wedding planning stressful. But, that wasn’t the case for David throughout the whole wedding process. Setting up for him was seamless, contacting him was easy, working with him was a breeze, and our wedding night was a whole lot of fun. An excellent DJ with great taste for music in all genres and a great handle on timing and transitions between songs. He also dressed extremely well for our day. DJ Medina is a gem. I was initially really impressed by David's overwhelmingly positive reviews and can now attest that I agree with everyone-he is an amazing DJ! David helped my husband and I navigate the process of selecting music for our very multicultural wedding :) I am Bulgarian, my husband is Albanian, my stepfather is Colombian and we both love different genres of music. We had many songs from certain areas of our countries that we knew we wanted to be played. We had certain conditions and particular ways that we envisioned dancing/music at our wedding and David delivered on all fronts without ***ever*** showing resistance or lack of flexibility-thanks so much for that, David!! From the first phone call with David, we were struck by his professional demeanor, patience and knowledge regarding his skill. He has a ton of experience. He noted our preferences and asked many questions about our personal background and passions-which I loved. When the COVID pandemic hit, he was accomodating and there was no issue whatsover with changing our date. We ultimately essentially had to send him a list of many song requests, specific timing, etc etc-I actually emailed a pretty complex Excel spreadsheet! #foreignwedding problems. David made it easy to set up phone calls with him, no delays in communication and when the day arrived, he delivered. He took everything we talked about into consideration. Everyone was dancing all night and had such a blast that our guests said that they forgot to take selfies & pics in retrospect because everyone was on the dancefloor :) You won't be disappointed.
You should definitely book David for your next event. We cannot more highly recommend him to you. My wife and I hired David to be our DJ for our 18-person micro-wedding and he made it the most special night of our lives. Every song he played was a hit with us and our guests.
The thing that stands out the most to us about our night is that David had total command and feel for the room. With only 18 people, we needed someone who could tell the difference between our guests wanting to enjoy conversation/dinner, and our guests needing a small push to get on the dance floor and party with us. David mastered this balance perfectly--we loved the music while we were eating and when it came time to dance, David brought the party to life. Aside from David's masterful performance at the wedding, he was generally a pleasure to work with. He responds quickly and takes the time to meet with you several times to get on the same page about your ceremony and event. You may walk into your event worried about your other vendors, but you can rest easy knowing David has prepared for your event.

David was one of our venue's preferred vendors, and we're so glad we chose to work with him. Not only was his pricing extremely reasonable, he also made the entire process from begin to end very easy for us. We first did a introductory call with David to chat about his DJ experience and what we were looking for. Because of the pandemic, we had to delay our wedding by a year, and David was really responsive when we were deciding when to reschedule our wedding, which was much appreciated. David had suggested that we put together a Spotify playlist of songs that we liked, which we did. He also sent us a questionnaire to complete, which went through in detail each aspect of the ceremony and reception and what song we wanted to play during each. A few weeks before the wedding, we sent David our Spotify playlist and completed questionnaire and then did a call with him to discuss. David was able to anticipate things we hadn't even thought of, and his prior experience as a DJ at our venue was really helpful as well. On the day of, David made sure that everything ran smoothly and seamlessly. It was also amazing that he was able to pick up on which songs our guests liked and then play similar songs. We had compliments all night about the songs, which were all thanks to David!

He was also very responsive and collaborative before the wedding, really taking the time to understand our music taste and the vibe we were going for. 10/10 would recommend!
We decided on DJ Medina after comparing his introduction call and pricing with several comparable DJs. From the beginning, he put us at ease that he could handle a wide-variety of music to accommodate our mixed-race wedding. On the day of, he helped things run smoothly. We added a toast at the last minute and he got it done without a hitch. He incorporated much of the music we identified on his questionnaire and kept the dance floor full for the entire 3 hours of dancing. Upon reaching out to David in 2019, we had a very helpful conversation which he guided us on how he liked to structure the process of preparing, how he assesses the vibe of the room, his equipment, and how payments work. David also helped us think through how we might think about selecting key songs for our big day - very helpful as we are not music people! We originally were supposed to get married in 2020 but had to delay to 2021 due to COVID-19. David was very flexible in adjusting the date for us, and made the already stressful process better. When we came down to the big day, David was the consummate professional. He really helped shape what many of our guests thought was one of the best weddings they've been to by matching the songs to our requests as well as the vibe of the room, as well as adding his special thumbprint to the mix. We really had a great time, and would happily recommend David to anyone looking for a hassle-free, professional, easygoing and Amazing DJ!
It's honestly been so long since we were originally looking at vendors (thanks COVID!), but I believe that we came across David through our venue's preferred vendor list and through sites like wedding wire. Ever since our first conversation with David, I knew he was going to do a great job. It was our first time every procuring a DJ, but David came off as extremely professional, kind, and knowledgeable, both about music and about the flow of wedding receptions. During our first conversation, David took the time to ask us a series of questions about our music tastes and our vision for the evening. He obviously took great notes because when we spoke to him about two years later, he still remembered all the main touch-points. Prior to the wedding, we filled out a sheet that included information such as our first dance song, must plays, and do-not-plays. We then connected by phone to make sure that we were all on the same page with music and the flow for the evening. Again, David had some great recommendations on how to structure the flow to maximize our evening.
When it came to the actual wedding, David was AWESOME! I don’t think it would’ve been possible to be any happier with our selection. After our first dance, we had agreed to do a ten-minute dance set to get everyone pumped up for the night and our entire wedding, which was over 140 people. Everyone was on the dancefloor instantly. My wife and I also appreciated all the music that played in the background at dinner, because it was so clear that David had truly listened to what we wanted to hear and made an effort to incorporate in when the time was right. David was actually so good that our photographer, who shoots a ton of weddings, got his card so he could recommend him to couples that are looking for a DJ. Overall, we had the time of our lives and the music was a massive piece of that. If you want to worry about one less thing when it comes to planning your wedding, do yourself a favor and hire David, because you won’t regret it!
DJ Medina was awesome! We got married during COVID and he was really flexible with the changing rules. He listened to our needs and wants regarding music/flow and executed flawlessly on our wedding day. Our guests and us had a blast thanks to him!
We booked David for our wedding based on all the wonderful reviews he had received on The Knot, and he did not disappoint. Not only was he delighted to work, he also was incredibly accommodating when our wedding was canceled the morning of due to weather and came to DJ our even the following day. David recently DJ’d our wedding and my husband and I could not have been happier. To start, he is the absolute friendliest and easiest guy to work with. He was also quick to respond to every question or request I had. My husband and I have very different tastes in music and he managed to accommodate both. Amazing DJ! I found David through a google search of Brooklyn DJ's. He was a pleasure from the start. We had a postponement due to Covid and he was more than willing to work with us. I gave him a list of genres and some songs but otherwise he did a great job at nailing all the music. He did a wonderful job at keeping the party going. He's not annoying on the mic, he doesn't randomly scream out things lol. He was super professional, responsive, organized and fun. Even during this time everyone was on the dance floor. I would recommend David 100%

While we were not able to have the large celebration we had planned we had a wonderful intimate ceremony and reception with 5 guests (7 total) and included our other loved ones on Zoom. Professional, friendly, and got the party going! David was incredibly professional throughout our vendor selection and wedding planning process, with upfront and detailed descriptions of his services and pricing. His experience was easy to see, and we weren't wrong in relying on him for our wedding day. The speakers and mic were set up without issue, and he hit all of the cues with the right music during the ceremony, no problem. We had submitted a list of favorite songs to him before the big day, expecting a handful would make it into the evening's playlists, but he managed to make the majority of them work either during cocktail hour, dinner, or dancing. The Signature Highlight of the Wedding!! We had met with a couple DJs and were worried we wouldn’t be able to find someone who could play our eclectic taste in music. Within 3 minutes of talking with DJ Medina on the phone we knew he was the DJ for us! He made sure to get a good understanding of our backgrounds, the type of people who would be attending our wedding so that he could cater to everyone and keep the party alive. Throughout the process he sent a detailed questionnaire and sent emails back and forth so that the playlists would be perfect. He showed up to the venue very early and played a phenomenal set! David was an absolute pleasure to work with from the moment we contacted him all the way through our wedding day. After a few initial phone calls, we signed with him and were asked to fill out a form and send back to him at a date closer to the wedding. We then met up with David in person to review the form as well as our day of timeline. This meeting left us so comfortable and SO excited for our event. We just knew it was in good hands from here. We were so impressed with the way he worked with our other wedding vendors on timing and logistics. As for the day of - our guests are still raving about how David was the best wedding DJ they've ever seen :) We feel so lucky to have found his info online and could not be happier with his services!
David was absolutely amazing from beginning to end! We had a multicultural wedding and David had everybody dancing the entire time. We hired DJ David Medina for our recent wedding on 10/04/2019. It was very easy to work with him. He scheduled a call with us and explained his process and his experience with weddings, he was very easy to talk with and understood what we were looking for and had a follow up meeting prior to the date. We had a good feeling and felt very comfortable with him after the first call and hired him for our wedding. He was our first vendor hired as for us music was the most important aspect to have a fun reception. His fees are reasonable and included everything we needed, no add-ons and up selling. We are so happy we decided to work with him! When we arrived at the cocktail hour David came to us immediately and introduced himself, and he was so classy I thought he was a guest maybe someone’s plus one! The reception was super fun, it was hard to remain in our seats and we all spent a lot of time on the dance floor. He checked in on us throughout the night and I kept confusing him for a guest, very classy and professional. His announcements were minimal as that is how we wanted it and when he did make an announcement it was quick and to the point. It does not get better than DJ David Medina! DJ Medina was one of the best experiences of our wedding. Period. He is simply one of the most kind and genuine people we have ever met while at the same time very goal-oriented and organized in his approach. As a newly married man, I feel I’m qualified to give engaged couples one excellent piece of advice: hire DJ David Medina. I’m serious, just hire him and then you can worry about cakes, photographers, flowers and everything else. But you hire David, and you’re music is SET. He was a pro from start to finish and he makes the process of picking the music extremely easy. He’s also very responsive to emails, calls when he says he’s going to and has a very kind and warm demeanor. He’s obviously been doing this for a long time and he’s got it down. David also functions as the Master of Ceremonies for the wedding, which is EXTREMELY important. He keeps all of the toasts, dances and special moments flowing smoothly. His delivery was polished and succinct and he only drew as much attention to himself as was necessary. There was no showboating. Everything went exactly as planned, he was very attentive throughout and made a couple of very slight volume adjustments on the fly at our request. Smooth. In short, we couldn’t be happier to have David as our DJ and MC. The wedding went off really well and we were dancing ‘til we had to clear out of the venue. Take it from a married guy (3 weeks and counting): hire David. You’ll be very glad you did.

We worked with him to select songs for each part of the wedding. He played great music for dinner and dancing; he selected from suggestions we gave him and mixed it up with some of his own. We knew we wanted to have a blowout dance party! During our initial call, David listened intently to our vision. We explained guests would largely be of Cuban and Dominican descent so we definitely needed BACHATA and SALSA. Without a doubt he delivered. My only regret was that the party wasn't LONGER! We engaged David to be the DJ for our wedding. And it was one of the best decisions we’ve made! David was a professional throughout the process — at the multiple phone calls we had prior to the event, he was very organized, helped guide us to create the perfect playlists and listened to what our vision was. At the wedding, David was also awesome — calm, cool and collected under unexpected circumstances (our wedding was during a blackout in NYC — and after the power came back on, he stayed around for an extra hour then we had bargained for to put on a rocking dance party). We are so happy we chose David for our wedding! From start to finish, he made everything easy. He got back to us quickly when we first reached out and we scheduled a time to talk on the phone. He was so nice when we spoke, had excellent reviews and a great price, so we decided to proceed. Before the wedding, he sent over a form for names, song choices, and so on. He was all over the details and very thorough once we sent that back and had our call before the wedding. We also threw him a curve ball at the last minute: we were extending our reception by 30 minutes. He was so kind and said it was not a problem at all. At the wedding, we were very happy with how everything flowed, from the music itself to speeches, our entrance, and so on. There were even a few song requests that are some mashups we found on YouTube, and he had them no problem. We highly recommend David for your wedding!!

We had the pleasure of having DJ Medina DJ our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and wedding reception. From the moment we booked we felt comfortable and at ease with him. He was very organized and took time to get to know us and our style of music. He followed up the week before to confirm all our song choices and the schedule of events. On the day of the wedding, the music sounded great. the light show was a good addition too! DJ Medina was very professional and delivered.
DJ Medina ensured that our wedding was an absolute blast. My husband and I met in the NY Cuban salsa scene, and as we were getting to know each other we always knew we’d be in for a great night at parties DJ’d by Medina. When it finally came time to get married, we knew DJ Medina was our guy to help give us a fun and memorable night. He DJ’d a friend’s wedding months prior, and we were honestly blown away by his ability to keep everyone up and dancing, from young to old, all night long. As we were planning our night, DJ Medina was incredibly attentive to our desire to dance some salsa, as well as our desire to keep our guests on their feet with music that everyone else knows and can enjoy. He honored last-minute swing requests from my grandpa and provided sound equipment for me to sing with my guitar-playing father (the father/daughter dance wasn't really our thing). He helped us plan the flow of our night so that guests had ample time to dance, to eat, and enjoy other wedding-y entertainment, and had no problem creating what became an unforgettable transition from the Hora to a group salsa dance. It was truly great working with him throughout the entire process; he’s the nicest guy in the world, has a ton of wedding experience that shows, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.
Our wedding was an eclectic mix of my family visiting from Panama, my husbands Southern family and friends of ours ranging from 20's to early 40's. David Medina was able to successfully meet the musical needs that we craved but brought a great latin flair to fully round out the party! His professionalism from working with us (my first time planning, he was so patient) and with our venues coordinator was fantastic! DJ Medina did an amazing job at our wedding! From first contact with him (even before booking him), he was very professional, personable, and organized. Through phone calls and emails (he offered to meet up in person as well), he went over all of the details to help our wedding day go smoothly and tailored the program personally for us. DJ Medina listened to our request to include a wide selection of music genres including Israeli, Latin, and Motown. Overall, he played really fun music, getting guests up and dancing, even on a Sunday afternoon. We got so many compliments from family and friends that we had hired an amazing DJ. The maitre d even noted, “one of the best”. Hiring DJ Medina will be one of the best decisions you can make, and I promise you, your wedding will be a blast!
Working with DJ David Medina was a great experience from start to finish. The DJ is the one vendor who sets the entire tone for the guest experience at your wedding so we wanted to be sure to find the right match. Since we would be using the DJ for both the reception and the religious ceremony portion of our day, it was important for us to find someone who was professional and showed respect to both our religions - which is exactly how David was. What we liked most about David was his calm, non-obtrusive delivery of announcements and his easy-going personality. When planning our wedding day, he listened to all of the things we wanted while also giving us helpful tips and ideas that had worked in other weddings he DJ’d at without being demanding in any way. We are an interracial couple (Italian/Irish American and Bangladeshi) and DJ Medina was magically able to make everyone on both sides happy with his blend of music - seriously - so many guests commented on how good the DJ was and how much fun they had dancing!! I would enthusiastically recommend his services to anyone planning a wedding or other event.

Amazing Job! David was great to work with from beginning to end. When we first met, he demonstrated flexibility when it comes to the types of songs we wanted to play and an eagerness to nail everything and make sure we had an amazing time. We sent him several playlists and song requests and he made sure to incorporate all of that into our big day. We couldn't be happier with the way everything went and we'd gladly recommend him to any friends who are in the wedding planning stages.
Less than a month before our wedding we decided we wanted a DJ and found DJ Medina via our venue. In such a last minute situation, I reached out via email and got a phone call the same day. To our relief, DJ Medina was available! When talking to David, I noticed he was very specific and asked about the type of crowd that he would be playing for. David was quite friendly and easy to talk to. After speaking with my husband, we quickly decided to go with David. We spoke with him over the phone and explained to him what our needs were and we quickly signed a contract and everything worked out perfectly on our wedding day. DJ David Medina was an excellent DJ. Since the beginning he was easy to work with. He sat with us to learn about our families and their music interests. He made sure to read the crowd and play music that made them dance! From the minute the dance floor opened folks were dancing the entire time.
People danced all night! One guest voted our wedding best out of the 11 he went to this year and EVERYONE said how much fun they had. All praise goes to David Medina. The first bit of wedding advice we received was from our friends. They had previously hired David to DJ their wedding and they highly recommended him. We took their advice and are happy to say they were right! Our first impression of David was how friendly and easy to talk to he was, while at the same time very professional. It was clear that he knows what he is doing and he helped us personalize our wedding. He helped us match the right music to the sequence of events throughout the wedding. He is extremely flexible. The day of our wedding my grandfather went up to him to request an old song that he wanted to dedicate to my deceased grandmother. David found it and made a beautiful dedication. My whole family danced and got emotional. It was such a beautiful moment. David checked in with us at a few points throughout the wedding to keep everything just right. We hired DJ David for our wedding ceremony in the Prospect Park Boathouse. From the first email, he was very responsive, accommodating, and interested in getting all of the details right. We had several calls with him ahead of our wedding day, during which he went over our ceremony in detail. On the day of, he arrived right on schedule and setup his equipment. His announcements and emceeing were tastefully done. Our dance time was incredibly fun, and he played lots of songs from our list, as well as ones that fit the same genre/theme. Anytime someone made a song request that he was unsure of, he made sure to check with us ahead of time. We highly recommend David - he's a true professional and can handle your wedding ceremony with ease.
Above and Beyond! DJ Medina is everything and more you could hope for in a DJ! He is highly professional, responsive, insightful and amazing at what he does! From the very initial outreach, DJ Medina was personable and responsive and completely in tune with our needs and the vibe we were trying to create. Over the course of several months, he took every initiative to get to know us, get to know the music we like, and understand the flow of the day!! We honestly could not have asked for more!! From the ceremony set-up, ceremony music, cocktail and reception music to announcements and making sure our friends and family were on the dance floor -- DJ Medina did it all and we cannot thank him enough for his incredible services!!! David was absolutely great to work with and did a fantastic job DJ-ing our wedding. Being able to hear our favorite songs at our wedding was a big priority for us, and David did a great job listening to our recommendations and expanding on the list we provided. We received many compliments from guests that the music was well-rounded and it kept everyone dancing the entire evening no matter what age. David was extremely diligent and took his job very seriously. After our first phone call with him we felt very comfortable leaving the music in his hands. There's definitely a reason he is so well-reviewed on all wedding sites. There can be a lot of chaos and stressful moments in planning a wedding, but I can honestly say we never felt stressed about the music because David did such a great job discussing the evening and going over all the details with us beforehand.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! We have found our official family DJ! My husband and I were introduced to DJ Medina through friends. From our first call we knew he would be a total professional and a superb DJ. He was so easy to talk to, really listened to our preferences and had great questions for us. We had another pre-wedding call to firm down our selections and timeline. He super organized and prepared us for all the wedding selections from pre-ceremony to last song of the night. The day of the wedding, DJ Medina showed up on time and worked with the coordinator to set up in 3 different areas for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Seamless! And then we get to the reception where DJ Medina showed us how well he learned our style & preferences and understood the crowd by keeping everyone joyful and dancing all night long! We had to pull people off the dance floor including myself the bride. Countless people came up to me raving about how fun the music was. David did an amazing job at our wedding a few weeks ago. It was truly the best day of our lives, and he played a huge part in that. DJ Medina was amazing at our wedding! He came highly recommended by our venue host who mentioned that he had worked at our venue on several occasions. We had talked to a few other DJs and bands, but we knew after our first call he was our guy. He was very easy to talk to on our initial phone call and was extremely helpful in guiding us through the decisions we needed to make. Leading up to the wedding, he was easy to work with, available for our questions, and very responsive. Everything went so smoothly in both the planning and execution. We sent him a few examples of the type of music we wanted for our cocktail hour and dance party, and he was able to make the perfect mix for both events. Additionally, the music for our Korean Paebaek ceremony and a bridesmaid's signing portion were perfectly executed by David. Our venue had different parts of the wedding in different rooms and different floors, and he was able to flawlessly move the people and equipment at the right time--never a delay, never a hiccup. DJ Medina was great! He really understood the vibe that we wanted for our wedding, combining different types of music and understanding timeline. He also offered a lot of support and guidance and comfort in choosing music for our wedding. DJ Medina was a joy to work with. David provided sound equipment, background music, MC services, and DJ services throughout our wedding. Our wedding venue broke up different aspects of the wedding into rooms on different floors (e.g. ceremony on the first floor, cocktail hour and dinner on the second floor, dancing and dessert on the first floor). David made sure that the audio/sound equipment was set up in every room and checked in with us throughout the night. The background music was perfectly selected and David's MC services really added to our toasts and to the overall flow of the evening. We really appreciated David's attention to detail and his sensitivity to our needs as well as to the overall vibe of the night. During the dancing portion of the night, David wove together songs that ensured that both the young and older crowds had an amazing time. No one wanted the music to stop!!! Before the event, David was equally fantastic. He made an effort to get to know us and was amenable to some last minute song additions. We highly recommend working with David!!!
When my husband and I started planning our wedding, we quickly learned that besides good food and drinks, providing good music was the most important thing to consider. While we both love music, finding a D.J. seemed like a daunting task because we both like such a wide range of genres. Through phone conferences, emails, and an in-person meeting, D.J Medina took the time to really understand us as a couple and what our vision was for our wedding. He played the songs we really wanted, left-out the ones we didn't, and used his professional judgement for the rest. During the ceremony he worked collaboratively with our wedding coordinator and officiant to time our music perfectly. During the cocktail hour and dinner, the music he put together really enhanced the overall ambiance. And, during the reception, he had people dancing their hearts out until the very last song. We were so pleased with his work and so were our guests. D.J. Medina is a true professional who takes pride in his work. It was an honor to work with him!
David was a calming presence and by far the best vendor that we interacted with during the course of planning our wedding. I would highly recommend his services to anyone. David made helpful suggestions about the flow of the wedding, most of which we incorporated into our night. He was great about making sure he understood our eclectic musical tastes. He not only played what was on our list and filled in the gaps with songs that were well thought out and a great addition. Little things mattered a lot to David: He made sure he knew how to pronounce names, who the coordinator was, who the parents were. The music flow through out the night was great, our friends and family are big on dancing and we really wanted a night that was up on the dance floor and active. There never once was a song that cleared the floor. David is extremely responsive, extremely professional. I'd recommend him to anyone!
David was a dream to work with. We had a rushed last minute wedding (3 months planning!) with a lot of moving parts (eg. 10-piece band, ambient entertainers plus DJ); yet David was our rock amidst all the chaos. Additionally, we had a mixed culture, multi-nationality crowd with high expectations. Without exception, every guest raved about the amazing music. If you're considering David don't hesitate, he's the best!
We received David's information through a vendor list from our venue- and we couldn't have been happier with his services. We are a same-sex interfaith couple and felt completely at ease upon having our initial phone chat with David. We worked through the run of day, all of our song preferences for both the ceremony and reception, as well as working out speeches and toasts. Our 175 guests were boogieing all night long- I overheard multiple people commenting on how awesome the music was. I only hope we can throw a party in the future so we can use David again!

David was fantastic in delivering exactly what we were looking for. He is incredibly professional, very responsive, has a great sense of humor, and was able to deliver a very unique and customized music flavor for our wedding. My wife is Dominican and my family is Italian, yet David selected a music list that fit both sides perfectly, as well as personally created a half normal/half bachata version of our wedding song. Overall, we had an excellent experience with David. I would recommend him to anyone.
Professional and courteous. We recently used DJ Dave at our wedding and highly recommend him for any special event. DJ Dave contacted us a few times prior to our big day to make sure all of the details were in order. He curated a fantastic playlist and kept the dance floor packed all night. David was the DJ for our wedding during Memorial Day weekend. He was extremely helpful throughout the process providing insights on how best to set the mood of the overall wedding. This wedding was the coming together of two families from different backgrounds and musical tastes and David was amazing at blending the genres so that it was a seamless event. David did an unbelievable job for our wedding! When I began searching for a DJ, I was looking for someone who wouldn't do a cheesy job. The last thing I wanted was a DJ making jokes about himself to get the guests going or advertising his DJ name to the crowd. David was exactly the opposite of that, top notch service and very professional. About a month before the wedding, David was in touch with us weekly to make sure he knew how the entire day would go. The one thing we enjoyed a lot about David was designing our wedding timeline with him. He gave very good suggestions for how our wedding day should go, but was not persistent. We ended up taking several of his suggestions, which proved to be worth it since the day went very smooth. The day of was everything we could have wished for! David did an amazing job making sure we were on time. Our reception was only 3 hours long, so I asked David to please keep everything on time because my family and I wanted to dance! Not only did he stay on time but; he gave us a good couple of solid hours to dance. The music was great from start to finish. I gave David a list of songs to play and he did an amazing job transitioning from one song to the next. All of my guests, especially my Mom, could not believe how great the music was. Thank you David for making it a night we won't forget!
Best. DJ. Ever Hiring David as the DJ for our May wedding was one of the best decisions we could have made! From the very first phone call David was kind, knowledgable, and flexible. He has an extensive knowledge of music and WILL be able to provide any style you could imagine. DJ David Medina is the best DJ in NYC. We emailed David to request a quote for his DJ services for our Wedding in NYC. He responded the same day and scheduled a phone conversation with both the groom and bride. We advised David about the uniqueness of our wedding as we had a younger and older crowd to please. David told us not to worry and immediately shared with us his plan. We talked about the details of the ceremony and reception and some of the music that we wanted to incorporate. As the wedding day was approaching, we had another phone conversation with David. We went over all details, dances, special songs, entrance songs, well all the details that most of us don't think about but are part of any wedding. He was extremely supportive and gave us his opinion about the timing of certain dances and toasts. The wedding was flawless. My guests were very pleased by the music selection during our reception. He played everything from salsa and merengue to 70-80's music. My guests were dancing all night. We only sat down to eat. All my guests including the older crowd were dancing non-stop. I am dancer, so for me this really made my wedding day the perfect day of my life. I am so glad that we chose David for our wedding. I was so confident that he would do a great job because when you talk to him, you know he knows exactly what he is doing. David took care of our music during the processional, cocktail hour and reception. My guests can't stop talking about how much fun they had at our wedding and how much they loved our last song. One of my best friends asked for Despacito (Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi), and when I asked David to play it (even though it wasn't the song we had chosen to be the last), David transitioned very well and the video of all my guests dancing to Despacito was priceless.
From the first call, we had a great feeling about David. We trusted that he understood how to accommodate our diverse group of guests with traditional Jewish music, Colombian hits and all the pop classics along the way. And boy did he not disappoint!!! David created the vibe through each moment from cocktail hour to the ceremony to full on dancing at 1pm on a Sunday. He had everyone on the dance floor at many times throughout the event. People asked if we could give them the playlist! On top of great music (an excellent mix of the exact things we asked for, the absence of what we definitely didn't want to hear and the things we didn't know we wanted!), David flawlessly emceed the wedding so guests knew where to be and what was going on. We highly recommend David if you want to have a real party!
As both my husband and I are native New Yorkers, we knew that David would be the perfect fit for us the moment he told us he is also originally from New York. David was wonderful to work with and took the time to fully understand our vision for our reception. He kept our guests dancing all night long, played a variety of music from different eras and genres, and perfectly timed songs on our must-play list (i.e. Biggie later in the evening!). One moment I remember distinctly is hearing a song we had considered for our first dance, played during dinner, where my husband and I had the first chance to be alone and take in everything that was happening at our wedding. It's like he read our minds and played the perfect song for that perfect moment. We are truly grateful for David's grace, patience, flexibility, and above all else, his kindness.
